    Help with unregistered handgun question.....

One of my co-workers brought up a question to me. Apparently he traded a Mossberg shotgun for a Ruger handgun .45ACP back about 9 or 10 years ago. It was a straight trade with no paperwork done. I advised him that he is in violation of the law, but could not offer him any advise other then to turn the gun into his nearest Police department. Is there any other recourse for him? Thanks in advance.

not a crime to own an unregistered handgun and the statute of limitations for the unpapered transfer has passed. AFAIK, in this case, filing a volreg would be the best thing to do if he wanted to register it in his name (would help if he ever got caught CCW'ing without a permit).

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?
