Is the Para Ordnance P14.45 the same height as a run-of-the-mill 1911 Government frame? Or is it taller? I know it's wider, but it sure looks a lot taller too.

Only the grip is wider. The mag lock and safety? are wider too. Otherwise I believe it is the same.I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.
When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory. -
As stated above, the grip is wider. The mag catch/release is different, so are the grips and the trigger. Other than that everything else is the same; the safeties and all other internal parts.
