    grip problem on P226

so i own a p226 but i always being ****ty with that gun(i shot glock, 1911 alright), i dig in to the problem then i realize that the trigger reach of the gun is too far for my small hand therefore i couldn't get to a good grip, should i change out the factory grip or is there anyway to improve my grip without modifying the gun?

is it the factory plastic or wood grips? If its the wood grips the plastic grips will be drastically smaller. But if its the plastic grips you are probably going to have to get a short trigger as the smaller grips which are aluminum are pretty pricey.

is that a factory upgrade option?
by the way my grip is plastic, so depends on which one cost less, short trigger or aluminium grip

The short trigger by itself runs around 30-40 dollars. It takes about 10 minutes to swap it out don't know what a gunsmith would charge to install one.

          What caliber is the gun?

i got the short trigger many years ago for a w german P226 because the trigger reach for 1st shot/ double action was a tad too far; unfortunately it set the trigger too close and it was even more uncomfortable. the reinstalled original trigger was a better fit for me. it would be nice if you knew someone with short trigger already installed, so you could experience the fit before investing money and time....

get your parts between top gun supply or http://www.ombexpress.com to get the best prices. i think 30 is too high. i got mine recently for $25. I've installed it and didnt like it at all becuase it is too short.

the swap can be done in less than 2 min. all you need to do is takeout the locking inserts, remove the grip pannels and trigger bar. the parts should be a drop in fit if you have the rail frame.

personally, out of all the trigger, i like the old west German one the best. it have good solid groove and the shape of the trigger face just works for me.

if you are in LA area and want to give the short trigger a try. just let me know, we can set something up.
