    AR,AK and Sig 556 pistols

Ok I see a lot of these online for sale. All with a single shoot set ups and mag locks (California compliant). This is how they are sold. Now after I get it home. Can I then legally replace the single shoot mag for a ten rounder. Still keeping the mag lock in place and be legal. I under stand AR's,AK's and the 556's are all different. AR's need to be dedicated pistol lowers and never be made into a rifle. The same is not a issue with the other two. What are the pros and cons of ether. Along with the legality of changing the mag out.

    PLEASE HELP ME TO DECIDE???

Its perfectly legal to swap mags after DROS.

And you are wrong about the AK and 556 pistols, they too must never have been made into a rifle before. You can make all 3 into rifles at a later date, but once they are made into rifles, they cannot legally be made back into pistols.

Noob question: can we use 30 round high capacity mags with ar/ak pistols? Leaving the BB on of course, and the mags were purchased many years ago. If no, please explain.

A semiautomatic pistol with a fixed magazine that has the capacity to accept more than 10 rounds is a CA AW: PC12276.1. (a) (5)

                No.

Magazine lock + large capacity magazine = assault weapon.

                Penal Code 12276.1
                (a) Notwithstanding Section 12276, "assault weapon" shall also mean any of the following:
                (5) A semiautomatic pistol with a fixed magazine that has the capacity to accept more than 10 rounds.
