FFLs and paranoia

Hi All,
So I'm about to start purchasing firearms online but I have one paranoid question. What assurances do I have that the FFL will give me my gun. I'm not a felon or crazy but just in case the FFL decides "heck I can keep this nice firearm" what can I do? And has anyone dealt with Rob from Golden State Tactical? Feel free to PM me with reviews if warranted. Thanks for your time.

I shop at stores that I get a good vibe from. Are you getting a weird feeling from the store owner? Are you sure it is not buyer's remorse?

In the SF bay area, I have never had a problem with any store I have purchased at or had a rifle serviced. I am not familiar with Golden State Tactical. Their web site looks nice:

For online purchases, I check reviews of the place and his rating on Gunbroker.com or Auctionarms.com. I stay away from first time sellers.

Well, there is a record of something being billed to you and shipped to an FFL, right? It wouldn't be that difficult to report it to local authorities if he decided not to do the transfer to you and keep it himself.

I've never had that happen, I've been buying guns for over 35 years. If you search this site I'll bet you can't find a post that reads anything like "I paid for a gun and my FFL kept it because he liked it". I suppose anything is possible, but if it did it wouldn't be limited to transfers - an FFL could do that with pretty much any gun.

That is unlikely. Federal prison is not a joke from what I hear.

i know for a fact that golden state tactical is a great place to purchase a firearm, or transfer a firearm...robby is a great guy to deal with...buy goods or use his services with confidence.

I don't think anyone would go through all the trouble and expense of getting a FFL, just to throw it away by keeping a random customers gun.

I've personally dealt with Robby at Golden State, hes a great guy. Just had him receive my RIA Tactical not less than a week ago. He's really prompt and has an exact 240 hour waiting period unlike gun stores which is 11 days. Buy with confidence!

By the way, an FFL can not keep your gun...obviously there are orders and tracking numbers and all that, not to mention the serials are always there. Plus...federal prison? haha...not fun.

You'd be surprised. There were people who paid him to order something for them and transfer it but they never saw their guns. Eventually, I suppose he refunded their money...maybe. Anyhow, that is beating a dead horse.
