what is glock "GAP" ?

Turners has a .45 Glock 37 on sale for $399. But what is GAP ? Can I still use regular .45 ammo ? Is this a good gun ?

Gap is a shorter version of 45ACP

it was some specialty glock round with a purpose and idea that was supposed to catch on but never did

As others have already mentioned it's a different type of .45 and using .45 ACP in a .45 GAP is a REALLY bad idea.

dont buy it. you wont be able to find ammo for it.

Their re-sale value stinks and they are very hard to sell as a used pistol.

It was a good idea but under take the strong bound that American has with 45acp.

It was meant for a 45 cal in a 9mm/40s&w platform for the shooters that don't prefer or have trouble with 45acp's larger platform. I believe Glock though it might make a new market in both America and Europe. But we Americans like to stick with our 45acp and Europeans don't want to get rid of their 9mm.

No other .45 out there is a "larger platform" except Glocks themselves.

Glock invented the .45 GAP to "solve" the problem that THEY INVENTED of too large a grip frame and crappy grip angle that wasn't conducive to the .45ACP cartridge.

Rather than just fix their guns, they decided it was more important to invent a whole new cartridge.

It didn't really work out for them, which is why you see .45 GAP models go for $200 less than other standard Glocks.
