    FNP40 - any comment?

i have an FNP 40 for quite awhile now and noticed some gouging
on the lower left mid section of the slide. does anybody have the same
trouble after putting in 300+ rounds? - just curious

That's pretty typical for the FNP-40. It generally happens in the first 200 rounds or so, then doesn't get noticeably worse. For some reason the FNP-9 isn't as prone to marking like that, it must be related to the recoil.

i see- so im not alone then. i've been trying to figure out what was causing that,
no clue to what possible part of the gun where it could be hitting.
      thanks anyway gearhead!

Its recoil related. Basically when the gun fires, the take-down lever tilts a little bit and that is what causes the blem.

          Here's mine:

This was after 800 rounds or so. I don't really remember.

yeah - once the pistol is assembled back you could hardly notice anyway.
