Oh, the Bud's add. I ordered from there as well and was pleasantly surprised to receive a PM7 with a matching stainless bushing, instead of the black bushing that was pictured. Bud's needs to get the photo and description updated.

Even without the front strap checkering, there is no slippery feel to the front strap, the bead blast provides plenty of traction.

Yep, works for me. bombadillo, don't worry too much about it. Add some VZ grips and it will stay put. Enjoy your PM7.

I got a 2010 model and am a bit disappointed that it doesn't have front strap checkering. I thought it was supposed to have front and rear, but I guess there was some confusion between the manufacturer and the web site I ordered from.

it may sound strange to some who don't have a lot of 1911s, but there are many shooters who prefer the smooth front strap. it allows them to pick the sharpness of checkering they want applied or any of the other textures available. a checker front strap often precludes having other textures applied...there isn't enough metal left after the checkering is removed

I just read this and expected it but I was wrong.

The bold sounds like he got the cbob and the pm7 mixed up for some of the descriptions. I have the 2010 (I think, I'll make sure monday) and there is no checkered front strap. If I remember correctly the mag well has a very slight bevel.

Yeah, its not a real deep bevel but you can tell that it was beveled enough to help out with mag insertion.
