So I put my Automag II up for sale a week or so ago. It's a 22 WMR semi auto all stainless pistol.

Yesterday I had a brilliant idea. What are the chances of finding someone who can make a 17HMR barrel for it? ...not likely, I know, but being that it'd be that much different, I'd probably keep it!

You can try contacting the guys at High Standard to see if they could make you one.

Or they might be able to tell you that they've tried to do it and it won't work. The .17 HMR is so "in" right now that I'll bet High Standard has at least thought about making a version of the Automag II in that caliber.
