<stock response> It's worthless, I'll take it off your hands so that you don't have to worry about it </stock response>

Seriously though, can you post a picture or at least give us all the text that you can find on the gun including the serial number?

Will do when i get home from what i remember it a flat back with a six inch barrel with a orange front sight. Say peacekeeper 357 mag on the barrel and the grip says made in los angeles on the bottom

They were made in the early to mid 1980's for only a couple of years. They all came parkerized with the rubber grips like yours.I had one just like your picture back then, and it was the most accurate revolver I ever shot.It would put six shots into the size of a nickel at 20 yards.Sadly, mine was stolen and I replaced it with a Colt King Cobra. Now I wish I would have bought another Colt Peacekeeper.I have been trying to find one here local for a few years now with no luck. You have a keeper for sure.

The grips say "Made in Los Angeles" because they are Pachmyer grips that came on the gun. Usually pretty good rubber grips.

I think you scored a sweet revolver there!
Then another horse PONY came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make men slay each other. To him was given a huge sword. My kinda guy.

They don't make those anymore so I would keep it. I don't know if it's worth anything but if nothing else, it's worth it enough that your father handed it to you.

Hm..is that what they're called? I always thought the "Peacemaker" nickname was given to the 1873 Colt Single Action Army. That looks like some sort of modern Colt DA .357 Magnum

Ah, my mistake. This is the Peacekeeper...

I thought he was referring to the Peacemaker!

Yep, you're right it's all about marketing!
