Been wanting a small, 9mm for a concealed carry permit I'm applying for and went to Turners and selected a Springfield XD compact with Tritium sights. Very nice and was on sale.
Went to do the DROS and when I handed him my license, he asked what the hole in it was for? That's when I remembered that I had gone to DMV early last week to have the corrective lense restriction removed from my license (I had Lasik). They took my photo and said the new license would arrive in about two weeks.
They punched a hole in my license, handed it back to me and said to keep it as backup in case I ever lose my license. I guess it makes it easier and quicker to get a replacement. They also gave me a temporary piece of paper showing that the restriction was gone.
Turners says they can't process the DROS as the license is invalid, which actually makes sense, now that you think about it.
No worries as the new license should be here by the end of the week.
Good news is they let me buy the gun at the sales price and I'll just go back to do the DROS when the license shows up in a few days.
You folks may already know this, but it was a new one to me.
Regards,
John
