    Collector HG's - Sig blackwater tac P226?

A guy I know has a NIB P226 blackwater Tac. People are telling him to never fire. It's a collectors item. could be worth $2500 + now and more later. (note it's discontinued)

Does this really happen? He could buy an SCT and have a similar platform to shoot saving the Blackwater for resale value..??

    Lemme know your thoughts

LOL, a Blackwater P226 as a collectable? Not in our lifetime, or our kids, or our grandkids.

Tell the guy to shoot it and enjoy.

Who told him that? An XE Sig is worth a little less than you paid for it right now, its just another 226.

Could be true but I doubt it? A couple of gun stores here in S.D. have them in stock regularly. I think they are too common to be considered collector's items though.

I doubt it. You never know what the demand might be years from now, but I would just shoot it.

maybe it can be a collectible in california because that stupid handgun list creating an artificial shortage, but i doubt it. I say shoot it, otherwise its just a sculpture sitting around in a safe.

It's already on the roster so unless it falls off the roster I don't see that being a factor.

If I recall, the regular P226 Blackwater is on the roster, but the Blackwater Tactical (with the SCT mags and beavertail) is NOT on the roster.

                    This ^

Beavertail, magwell grips and 20 rd mags makes it desirable and rare IMHO.

IMHO 9mms except for rare old mint BHPs are rarely collectors guns.

Right, this is the TACTICTAL so it has above mentioned items making it more rare (to CA i guess) but also Blacwater is now defunct soo...???? Oh well...

20rnd mags are sweet. The thought of having 4 mags and carrying 80 rounds is SOO hard for me to conceptualize.

Hmmm, good eye, I didn't even notice there was a difference between the tactical and the regular version. You are correct, the tactical version is not on the roster. 20 round mags sure would be cool though....

If your friend doesn't really like it or isn't totally in love with it if he sales it NIB he can get some extra bucks here in CA vs out of state since it's not on the list.

It's not that rare and even though it may be discontinued it won't be some collector item that will triple in value some day.

I saw one online for just under 1300 dollars out of state new. Their was one of these for sale awhile back I think he wanted close to 1800-2000 for it, I think it sold and it was lightly used.

Add at least 500 bucks for the non listed add on fee or so and see if anyone bites. But the buyer really has to want it. Anything over 2000 and I doubt anyone will buy it since you can't include the 20 round mags with it. But you could keep them or sale them out of state.

It's a nice looking 226 so unless it's going to sit in the safe never to be used might as well sale it and get your money back plus a little extra for something else down the road.

If it was a HK 45 those sell quick on these boards.

Yes, you can keep the 20 rounders with the gun if you sell it. Just disassemble them.
