Can't make up my darn mind!

Looking to get a carry piece. Will probably accompany me while hunting/fishing and hopefully in the future for CCW. I have a glock 17 but not I'm looking into one of the baby glocks but not sure wich one... Glock 26,27 or 36. I'm a small guy 5'7 150. So I need something smaller or else I would go with a mid size. I like 9mm and I'm leaning towards it since I already have a 9mm at the same time I'm really considering the 36 for the 45 ACP. I'm not a big fan of 40 but it's still in the race. I have heard the 36 is a NASTY little gun to have in 45 ACP and very un pleasant to shoot. ANYONE who owns and carries any of these pistols shed some light on your experiences pros and cons. I would appreciate it!

Lies! The 36 isn't nasty at all. My 29 has more recoil for sure, and it's not bad.

Any of the above is fine. If you want to keep just 9mm, get the 26. I don't carry my 27 as much as I used to, now I go with the slimmer guns like my Kimber Ultra CDP 1911 with slim grips, or my Walther PPS in .40 but the 26/27 is fine and holds 10+1.

The only downside to the 36 is it only holds 6 rounds but I was just thinking it's not as bad as I thought because I wouldn't hesitate to carry a revolver (I think it's just because I thought 6 rounds in a semi auto PFTTT) haha. I want to stay with 9mm but at the same time I'm having this urge to get a 45 ACP .

I own, carry and regularly shoot my Glock 36, .45ACP. I'm 5'7" just like you.

The G36 conceals, in a Crossbreed Supertuck, BEAUTIFULLY. You literally forget it's there after a short while. I can see why you might want to stick with 9mm because it's already a caliber you have but if you do go .45 for CCW I can highly recommed the G36.

I'm a bit of recoil wussy. .38 Special out of a small J Frame makes me wince lol. With that being said I love shooting my G36. Both with Federal 230gr. FMJ target ammo and with Federal 230gr. Hydra-Shok. The recoil is very manageable to me. It does have a fair amount of muzzle flip but that doesn't make it uncomfortable for me at all. The only issue I see with the muzzle flip is it takes a lot of practice to be able to make a quick follow up shot that hits where your first shot did. It's doable but practice is needed.

Some folks scoff at the 6 round capacity of the G36 but it doesn't bother me. I carry with one in the pipe so I actually have 7 rounds instantly available. With a extra magazine in my pocket I've got 13 or I sometimes put two spare mags in a double mag holder on the other side of my belt giving me 19 rounds. Round capacity is not an issue with me and the G36.

Whoa since when does Crimson Trace make triggerguard lasers? Thats nice. I'm really leaning towards a 36. My buddy a army MP back on deployment doing recruiting duty carries a 36 and says if he could he would take it to the sand box with him over his m9 haha says it's accurate even in such a small package.

Yes, CT does have the trigger guard laser and I like it a lot. You don't even know it's there. The activation button is on the front strap of the grip and very convenient.

I was surprised at the excellent level of accuracy this little guy produces.

the up side with any revolver is - Revolvers always goes BANG! No maybe - no clearing - no pre-ejected mgs. Pull, point, BANG! It isn't the number of shots it is the accuracy or effectiveness of the shots.
If it feels good in your grip, then start working on strength, proper grip and hitting the center.
                Good fortune be with you.

I love my 36 and it is going to be my primary carry gun as soon as my permit gets finished. I can hide it just fine and I'm 5'10" 140 pounds. It is a very accurate gun and the recoil is about the same as my XD40 so it's pretty mangeable. That being said the 36 is not necessarily a range gun. I have put 200 rounds down range with it in an afternoon, but it does get tiresome by the end of the day. As a carry gun tho it is hard to beat and you won't be dissapointed if you do pick one up.

Easy answer- Borrow or rent some different guns, try them out and see what you like.

                    My answer-
I would honestly go with the 9mm, G26.
Since you already have a 9mm, I recommend sticking with the caliber you've become used to training with.
But, if you go the route of the 45ACP, you've got to go classic 1911 :-)

I'll see if I cant get my hands on my buddies g36, I also have a friend with a g27. Now I know that 9mm glocks are soft shooting ive shot a 19 not a 26. I actually have a trade offer for my scope right now for a 26 so I might just go that route since I won't have to buy or reload for another caliber...

You won't be unhappy with the 26 either if you go that route. I don't own a 26 but I shoot my friend's every range trip and it is a great gun as well. It is pretty small and would conceal well and being a 9mm it is very manageable. If you can get one on a trade and already reload 9mm it seems like a good option.

Yeah I already have dies for 9mm and a glock 17. Maybe the 45 ACP will come later. I have tried various holsters for my 17 for concealment and while it can be done I would prefer to have a smaller gun for carry especially in the hot times of the year.

Out of the choices, I'd vote g26

Sounds like the 26 might be the better option for you right now. I am pretty sure that a 26 will be my next gun as well.
