The ammo shortage is so over...

I was at Cabella's in Reno, NV yesterday and they had LOTS of ammo availible in all calibers. If you cant find ammo now, you aint doing it right.

Much agreed on availability. Why aren't the prices coming back down? :-(

There were some price drops at Cabella's yesterday. Some "Was-" and "Now-" prices.

For the same reason gas prices and oil profits don't go down.

Also- Their public saferty employee discount day is coming up in June.

Also- If someone really, really needed ammo, I will be going back there on Monday and can pick some up for someone. YOU pay the retail price and the shipping. I am just offering and NOT trying to make a buck.

Did they have Federal 45acp FMJ, box of 50 for $15.97?

My local walmart had a bunch of ammo for the last two weeks. I am suprised its not blown out yet. I guess the shortage is slowing down.

Last I checked, gas prices were ~$3.30/gal for premium compared to $5/gal back in 2008...
                      That's not a drop?

Ammo is out there if you want to pay for it and the prices are seeming to fall now. I just picked up some ~17c/rd 7.62x39 corrosive to complement the 7.62x39 wolf I already own @ 28c/rd.

22c/round for .223 and 43c/round for .308 is the best I found on one site, I'm sure you could do slightly better if you hunted. That's definitely cheaper than the last time I went on a buying spree a few months ago. More importantly, they are both widely available.

I think people have realized that the Obama hysteria was pretty much empty--I may just be unaware, but I haven't heard of (and can't find) any major federal legislation in the works, let alone any that his administration is pushing personally. He's also made statements (not that I put too much stock in any politician's statements) that he sees gun control as a local issue and not a federal one...to me, that actually ties in to the conservative "states' rights" and "small central government" philosophy. The industry was more than happy to fan the flames, however, and people ate it up...

Ok, I'll get off my soap-box now. We can all be glad that availability has gone up and prices are starting to come back down.

Yep. People were all to happy to believe that the dark skinned socialist Nazi was going to take all the guns and ammo and melt them down, and people who stood to make a buck off of the hysteria were more than willing to hype it up.

I think Obama and congress are smart enough to know that the tide is turning in favor of less gun control. Any attempt to draw up any type of AWB legislation is going to blow up in their faces, and they know it.

California politicians on the other hand.......that's a different story.

I dont think ammo prices will ever go down as long as people keep buying it and they will.
