can we get the CGWIki corrected?

the law does not say its illegal to buy a hicap.

    9. If I have a large-capacity magazine, do I need to get rid of
    it?

No. Continued possession of large-capacity magazines (able to
accept more than 10 rounds) that you owned in California before
January 1, 2000, is not prohibited. However as of January 1,
2000, it is illegal to buy, manufacture, import, keep for sale,
expose for sale, give or lend any large-capacity magazine in
California except by law enforcement agencies, California
    peace officers, or licensed dealers.

    (PC Section 12020 (b)(19-29))

Nice catch - yes, that should be updated by removing the bolded, erroneous information.

if its a wiki, fix it yourself.

I'm assuming that you are refering to this page, http://wiki.calgunsfoundation.org/in...e_restrictions

In this case, it looks like they are quoting the CADOJ FAQ, and then clarify that the FAQ is not supported by the PC,

Note that the Bureau of Firearms statement that you can not buy large-capacity magazines is not supported by the Penal Code.
what else do you want it to say?

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

Oh, I bet a DA could get creative with your theory..

Criminal conspiracy to commit a felony.

and even then, there is an arguable exemption to the law that says that an FFL can sell large-capacity magazines to anybody, without violating the law.

People that think this are funny. You realize that you were just an accessory to a possible felony. Which is also a crime.

Just saying it's not like you're 100% free and clear if you buy a hi-cap magazine.

I'm sure the legal-eagles can chime in with some PC to back up what I am trying to say.

Determined to be too poorly worded to be defensible. Regardless, the large capacity magazine permit that the FFL is issued has verbage on it forbidding such transfers.
