I am looking for a small but yet powerful (.40) subcompact handgun possible to carry/conceal. I am debating between Sig 250 subcompact and Glock 27. The specs are very close but Sig is about $100 more. What do u think and feedback will be greatly appreciated.

I have nothing but good things to say about my 27. I have had zero failures and would trust my life to it at anytime. I do think you are looking at the perfect size/caliber combination. I have no experience with the 250 or HK. Personally I like the no external safeties on the Glock. Get a Crossbreed holster!Comment

I'd go with the glock, I've read to may posts complaining of Sigs lacking quality control and customer service over recent years to buy a Sig.
While I love HK's, I really like Glocks reliability and lack of manual safety. Under stress I don't want the extra step of taking off the safety. My bedside gun is an HK USP 40 with night sites and a laser, decocked with the safety off.
for CCW I would take the G26 27 or 30 over anything elseAbsolute power corrupts absolutely, even on Calguns.

I haven't shot the 250 but I can say that you really can't go wrong with a sub-compact Glock. Just try one for a bit and you will see why. Reliable, lightweight, compact, and priced very well. Everything you need and nothing you don't, and incredibly easy to detail strip if you want to clean it out really, really well or perform repairs on it, if you are so inclined. And if you decide to get a larger framed .40S&W Glock later, the larger mags can always be used in the smaller framed guns, which is pretty convenient if you think about the times that can come in handy.Comment

I wouldn't feel comfortable carrying a glock, at least not as comfortable as with other options. I purchased a P2000 LEM for myself.
a P250 and a P2000 have 2 things in common that cause me to prefer them over glock pistols.
1) firing pin is not energized during disassembly (useful in all applications).
2) presence of a "DAO type" hammer which returns forward as soon as the trigger is released. being able to place my thumb on the hammer during holstering reassures me that I'll be more protected from an AD, which I value.
3) the P2000 has a further feature that I like, which is my belief that the paddle type mag release it uses will be far less likely to unseat the magazine during the bumps/jostles that a gun endures while carried.
these are the factors it boiled down to when I did my analysis, your priorities and level of risk aversion are up to you to decide and act on.
not really a bad choice of the 3, (or even the 2 you originally mentioned)The Range is a place where you carry a gun around and spend most of your time shooting it.
The Real World is a place where you carry a gun around and spend most of your time not shooting it.
Plan Accordingly.

I'm not understanding this one. One of the safety features of the Glock is that the firing pin has to be down to disassemble. You have to either start with one that is already down or release it (via the trigger) prior to the slide coming off.Comment

I shot both my 23 and 27 this past weekend. I normally don't take both out at the same time, so I got a different perspective by doing so. The 23 is much more "tame" than the 27 with the same ammo. If I was going to carry, I'd have half a mind to cut down a 23 to 27 grip length and get the best of both worlds....longer sight radius, milder recoil with the short grip for better concealability. Many have done just that already.
I'm surprised the difference was that much. The 23 weighs only 1.41oz more than the 27...Comment

SVRider, what I mean is that whatever mechanism the gun uses to motivate the firing pin is activated, thus "energizing" the firing pin, aka causing it to penetrate the breech-face and potentially ignite an errant cartridge. The Range is a place where you carry a gun around and spend most of your time shooting it.
The Real World is a place where you carry a gun around and spend most of your time not shooting it.
Plan Accordingly.

the only P250 on the CA roster is the P250 compact (not subcom) in 9mm, bi-tone
but you can convert it to any of the other slide/frame combos, but I do suppose it's kind of a fortune. The Range is a place where you carry a gun around and spend most of your time shooting it.
