    Sig P226 9mm conversion

thinking about getting my brother a 9mm conversion for his Sig P226 for our birthday (born on the same day, 3 years apart). I'm having trouble because all my searches turn up .22lr conversions, and he doesn't want that because he's got a Sig Mosquito already. I've also seen the rimfire to centerfire conversions which apparently can be used to take the .40 to 9mm also, but they are a little out of the price range. All i can find online is a 9mm barrel.... no mag+barrel "kits" other than the rimfire to centerfire ones. Do the P226 .40SW magazines work with 9mm too? Is it just the barrel that needs to be swaped in order to shoot 9mm? Anyone with a P226 9mm conversion out there have any suggestions on brands to get or brands to stay away from? I appreciate the help

Most civilization is based on cowardice. It's so easy to civilize by teaching cowardice. You water down the standards which would lead to bravery. You restrain the will. You regulate the appetites. You fence in the horizons. You make a law for every movement. You deny the existence of chaos. You teach even the children to breathe slowly. You tame.

No pre-package kit for 9mm. However, since it is a .40SW, all you need is the barrel, maybe a lighter recoil spring and mag (You would need 9mm mag because .40SW mag will not work).

make sure it is a "conversion" barrel like the one in the TGS link. just throwing a 9mm barrel into a .40 226 won't work

All of my P229 .40sw mags load and feed 9mm just fine. Haven't tried with P226 mags, though.

There is also Caliber Exchange kits which include slide, barrel, guide rod, guide rod spring, and magazine for 370.

This Sig Sauer factory caliber exchange kit converts your P226 2-Step .22lr to 9mm. Kit comes with a black Nitron slide assembly with night sights, 9mm caliber barrel, recoil spring, guide rod, one standard capacity magazine and storage/carry case.
