Can a Bond derringer legally be purchased at the Del Mar Gun Show?

No. Bond Arms are not listed on the "Safety Roster" so cannot be sold in CA by a FFL dealer. If you really want one, you'll have find a private party that has one for sale.

PPT is OK. Keep in mind the Bond "Snakeslayer" is their name for the 45 Colt/410 barrel and as such (short barreled shotgun) that particular configuration is not allowed in CA. You'd have to get another barrel. I have a 45 ACP and a 10mm barrel.

These are very well made guns, solid as a tank, and I think they'd sell well in CA. I think they'd pass the roster, manufacturer probably doesn't want to be bothered. In theory they'd have to submit every caliber, every configuration they want to sell in CA but as a practical matter if they submitted one or two (38 Special & 9mm for example) they could sell those only but folks can still buy other barrels separately & switch out.
