    PC1911 Grip Search Update

First I want to thank everyone for their recommendations. Finding a set of slim grips that look right with the matte gunmetal gray of my Melonite finished PC1911 was a bit of a challenge. The dark rosewood double diamond grips it came with just looked dull and cheap and had to go. My first try was with a pair of slim black Alumagrips with Fleur-de-lis decoration. Very nice grips but the dull black finish of the Alumgrip just didn't look right against the matte gray finish of the pistol. They'll be turning up in the for sale section or on ebay soon and would probably look great with a matte stainless 1911.

So I've been watching Esmeralda's and Sarge's site waiting for a brighter and a bit more colorful woods grip to show up. These cocobolo grips finally came up on Esmeralda's site last week and immediately caught my eye. Unfortunately my photography doesn't do them justice.

The trigger is a short trigger from STI and the stand is African Bubinga from Sarge.

i like the white balance/lighting in the third picture the best...i think your focus/aperture is a bit off on the first two

Beautiful grips, beautiful gun. It's my favorite semi-auto in the safe.

        It's too late, it's over.

Okay you forced me to break out the good camera. But I guess I still need a light box.

That's a beautiful piece of wood. Looks great on the gun!
Then another horse PONY came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make men slay each other. To him was given a huge sword. My kinda guy.

That's some good lookin' piece of cocobolo! It compliments your Smith nicely, even the magwell cut blends in.

Nice to see ya still around Sholling.
