    FN Five-seveN

A friend of mine wants to buy a FN Five-seveN. It is a she. She says it fits her hand and doesn't have much recoil. I think some thing a little more common would be better as there are very few ammo vendors selling it.
Could I please get some input?

Good choice. Everyone is different and should find/buy a gun that fit and meets their needs.

Good luck finding a FiveSeveN let alone the ammo for it. If I'm not mistaken there is a few months wait for a vendor to get ONE.

If it works for her, go for it. There are several places near Walnut Creek that supply 5.7 ammo, including METCO/Cordelia Gun Exchange in Cordelia.

If I were to put in my thoughts, I'd suggest a more common caliber, but there isn't anything wrong with the 5-7.

Mine is the most accurate handgun I own, also. Most sporting goods stores stock the 5.7x28 ammo, and she can always stock up via mail order now before the ban goes into effect. I think the Five-seveN is the perfect handgun for a person who can't tolerate much recoil, as long as their hand fits the grip well.

She must have big hands. I like the 5.7 but I think the gun's too big for my normal medium sized hands. If it fits her and she likes it, it's a great gun with low recoil and penetrating power.

              Nope. http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/p...ducts_id/64274

Here ya go for a vendor who carries them in stock, and: https://surplusammo.com/index.php?ma...9023daec398954

There is 1000 rounds of Vmax ammo to get her going. Great guns and ammo isn't hard to find. At least no harder than .45acp is right now. Heck, its cheaper than most .45 i've seen. Good luck to her and hope she loves the pistol.

You can get SS197 for ~$17/box at Wholesale Hunter right now

Truehuntersupply.com is in Oakland, and he usually has some of the best prices in the nation on 5.7 ammo. I don't know if he has an actual store front though - you might want to shoot Robert an email or give him a call (info on his site) about future ammo purchases post AB962.

The Five-Seven is a great pistol for women. My wife loves mine. I can hardly keep it away from her! Ammo isn't that difficult to find either, just shop around and buy in bulk, same as anything else.

Bass Pro Shops in Rancho Cucamonga has a Five-Seven pistol for $1089...not 100% sure of the price, but it was definitely under $1100.
