Does anyone know how much this colt python is worth?

My friend bought this Stainless Colt Python in the early 1980's, he has put approximately 50 rounds through the revolver when qualifying for the sheriffs dept. He has had it in storage at the Sheriffs dept since then. He has decided that he would like to sell it now but does not know how much its worth. He lives in Marin County North Bay and would like to transfer it in Marin if that makes any price difference.

The gun comes with a Leather Bianchi Holster, owners manual and a black bag to carry it in.

You guys are high, for a 25+ year old gun Realistically, 150-200. But, I just came into some cash and would be willing to go, mmmm, 275-300. Hit me with a PM in interested.

What is the serial number, you may exclude the last three digits, please place letter exactly where it is i.e front, or after serial numbers.

Closer to the low side as the market places less value on a stainless finish than the blue.

I wouldn't let one go, in the same condition, for less than $1500.

Market is not right for higher dollar value guns right now. If you are not in a hurry, keep it for a little while until people can put more money in their wallets.

Between $1200 and 1400 sounds about right, but don't be surprised it if it closer to 1200 in this market.

I'm going to go a little contrary on value, of course keeping in mind that the gun is "worth" whatever price one fellow will sell at and another will buy. Assuming it has the smooth Python action (and most stainless versions I've handled do not) it doesn't have the top quality finish of the blued or nickled versions. Just my thought, but it strikes me as a $1,000.00 gun in CA. I'm sure a higher price tag could be put on it if the seller isn't in a hurry, but I just don't see the stainless made in 80's versions as having the qualities valued by Python buyers - other than the rollmark on the barrel.

It is worth what someone will pay for it. She is a beauty.

I wouldn't argue with this assessment.
