    Let the flames begin..

So I bought this Smith & Wesson 4006TSW here, I thought I would just have it as a whatever gun, for some range time and part of my collection. Now I must say, this gun has never seen the inside of my safe. I carry it on duty daily (security) and it sits on the nightstand at night. I enjoy shooting it, it fits in my hand well and I like how it looks..

All this smack talking about it on here, and I would rather carry and shoot it then my sig or glock. Strange? Maybe.

    Let the flaming begin..

I actually like the 4006 series! Maybe you mistaken the flaming for the Sigma series I had the chance to get one here a few months back at a excellent deal but I had to pass because I'm not too fond of the .40 cartridge. If it was 9mm or .45 I would have a 4006 myself

But that's what you can find at Walmart when all the 9mm & 45 ACP is gone. So there is a plus there....

OP, if it fits you & you do well with it, who gives a rat"s tail what others have to say? Train hard with it, be one with it & enjoy it.

I'm not a fan of S&W auto's at all. Grip angle is weird, bore is too high, safety is backwards, don't like the Mag disconnect, but if one gun was better than another there would only be one pistol in the world. Glad you like it and I hope it serves you well and keeps you safe

How high can you grip on the gun? It looks like follow up shots would be more difficult, but I've never shot one of those before.

the Gen 3 S&Ws i've shot have been very nice. more than accurate enough, very short reset and the weight does seem to dampen recoil quite a bit in .40.

that hammer looks thinner than i've seen before...is it MIM?

Nothing wrong with 3rd Gen S&W semiautos. I have a CS9 and a 6906. I love them that I'm looking for another CS9. I actually prefer them over SIGs (nothing wrong with SIGs as they are great pistols) as they feel slimmer to me.

Dude, it says "tactical" on it on big bold letters. What is there to debate, it is clearly better than any handgun out there

Except the CHP's have a bobbed hammer, the rail is built into the frame, not the screwed on black one, and the safety only stays in the "unsafe" position. I like the gun a lot. It shoots good, is durable, and has the best reset ever.

Why would there be flame? Smith center fire semis are good guns... though I never shot or own one. I've been looking for a 1006 for years.
