If you were a part of my old thread 'which pistol to buy', thank you for your help. 11 days ago I purchase an XD 9mm, with the package deal (holster, speed loader, case, mag pouch). Today I got to take it out and put the first 200 rounds through it: zero ftf's, zero fte's and one dam accurate handgun! I was able to average 8/10 shots in a 4 inch square at 7 yards, and this was with a brand new pistol. (Once the slide spring breaks in and I've polished a few things, I'm sure I'll be posting 10/10)
I've shot glocks and 1911s, and I would rank the XD as the best autoloader under $700. The 1911s can be customized incredibly, but that costs money, and the XD is good straight out of the box.
What I like:
sites
accuracy
trigger (stock 2 stage)
feel of grip (much more comfortable than G17/G19 IMO)
What I didn't like:
cost of pistol ammo
If anyone is going to buy a Glock or other entry-level auto-loader, I would highly recommend trying an XD before you buy one, it made that good of an impression.
