    Range Report - XD 9mm

If you were a part of my old thread 'which pistol to buy', thank you for your help. 11 days ago I purchase an XD 9mm, with the package deal (holster, speed loader, case, mag pouch). Today I got to take it out and put the first 200 rounds through it: zero ftf's, zero fte's and one dam accurate handgun! I was able to average 8/10 shots in a 4 inch square at 7 yards, and this was with a brand new pistol. (Once the slide spring breaks in and I've polished a few things, I'm sure I'll be posting 10/10)

I've shot glocks and 1911s, and I would rank the XD as the best autoloader under $700. The 1911s can be customized incredibly, but that costs money, and the XD is good straight out of the box.

    What I like:
    sites
    accuracy
    trigger (stock 2 stage)
feel of grip (much more comfortable than G17/G19 IMO)

    What I didn't like:
    cost of pistol ammo

If anyone is going to buy a Glock or other entry-level auto-loader, I would highly recommend trying an XD before you buy one, it made that good of an impression.

either start being proactive or leave the state. The longer you're here, and waiting for bills to pass, the less rights you will have.

Brighamr, congrats on your new XD9. I've put a little over 3,000rds through mine and it has functioned perfectly. IMHO, I think the XD is one of the best bangs for the buck out there right now. Enjoy!

Glad you like you new XD! The grip doesn't fit my miniature paws too well, but different things for different folks.

I agree wholeheartedly about the ammo.

+1 on the XD9, even though I love the 1911 I like this little philly too!

+1 on the XD9. I was shooting a Glock in IDPA and when I went to the
XD my shooting improved 30-40%. It just fits my hand better, and point of aim is much more natural for me. I always had to drive the Glock down for sight picture. Great gun.
If you can't shoot good, at least look good shooting
