    Glock Customer Service

A little over two years ago I picked up a factory refurb'd G22, since then I've put several thousand rounds through it, probably between 3k and 5k. Anyway, after a type 1 fail-to-fire event I found that one of the four tabs that retains the slide was broken off.

Glock told me "Huh, that's weird. Send it in and we'll buy you a new grip/lower." How's that for customer service?!

Glock's CS is outstanding. Only thing I dislike is that they will not sent out "internal" parts for none license smith. (But they will tell you where you can buy from, which is kind of funny for me.)

BTW, is your G22 a 2nd gen? Glock will take the early 2nd gen frame and "update" (aka: get you a new one) it for you.

Thanks for the info. Quality product is #1. Good CS is a close #2.

Having both is a major +

It's like bookends. Neither can make up for the other, but they compliment each other well.

My FIL has owned a 2nd gen G17 for nearly 15 years and finally got tired of it throwing brass directly at the shooter (would hit you in the forehead 90% of the time) and he sent it in. They replaced EVERY part with the exception of the frame. Now that's standing behind your product!

I have not needed to use Glock CS yet but that is good to know that they are helpful.

Will they do that for Gen 1 frames, not just g22s?

They will "upgrade" Gen. 1 and 2 frames if ithas cracks or something is broken, i.e. the metal frame rail inserts. This has been my personal experience with their CS.

You already got the answer from taguin, so yes Glock will do that for you. Though, just want to know, that you have Gen 1 G17? If so, you might consider to keep it. As now, Glock don't hold too much "collectible" value (maybe that will change in the future). But it would be a pretty cool bragging piece to own a Gen 1 Glock. Glock is pretty inexpensive. You might consider that, and get yourself an new 3rd gen Glock.

Actually, I was thinking the same. I don't mind buying new ones since their priced right.

                          Thanks everyone.

Yay Glock. I've never had to use their CS but I have heard nothing but good things about them.
