    sig Short Reset Trigger package

I have a standard p226. Is it worth $100.00 to get a Short Reset Trigger package installed in my gun? How much of a difference will it make? Will it decrease reliability?

How about Action Enhancement Package? How does it differ from the Short Reset Trigger package? Should I get both? What does it do? Is it worth 150.00?

I love the SRT. I had the AEP done on my blackwater tactical, really impressed. It makes it a pleasure to shoot. I'd say go for it, if you have the time and money to send it to Sig.

The SRT kit allows you fire subsequent shots a little sooner due to the shorter reset when shooting at speed. If you're practicing proper reset, the trigger should already be prepped and ready by the time the gun comes back on target.

I'm not bashing it, as I think it has it's uses but I think it's a little hyped in that everyone thinks they need a shorter reset. With proper technique, you can still be ridiculously fast with an OEM trigger group.

If all you're doing is shooting static groups at the range, the SRT kit isn't going to help.

As for the Action Enhancement package, I'd be more interseted in that. I believe SIG cleans up your trigger and makes the DA smoother and lighter. This is more useful than the SRT IMHO.

as Voo said, a lot of folks get the SRT because it's the "thing" to faster shooting. it has been my experience that many folks who do get it really aren't practiced enough to take advantage of what it offers. the SRT was designed to let Sig compete with S&W for the CHP contract.

if you are going to get the SRT, you really need the AEP too. the SRT uses higher spring rates for safety...because of how it takes a design safety out of play...and smoothness makes up some for a heavier trigger.

the AEP is a nice cleanup with a reasonable price and short turn around time...but don't confuse it with a real action tune

I had the SRT and AEP done to my Blackwater and my son's Navy after we had 500+ rounds through them. We both shoot competitively (I transitioned from a 1911 and struggled with the factory reset on Sig) after the work was done we both noticed a HUGE difference. The turn around and customer service was awesome. I am so pleased with my "new" gun that I'm taking my Kimber 1911 out of my ccw rotation and replacing it with the Sig on my next requal. Go for it!
