    Ugly Duckling Project (G26 OD)

Picked up my new Glock 26 OD not too long ago. Really wanted to try my hand at customizing it. Starting off slow, rounded out the trigger guard, "undercut" the trigger guard just a bit, grinded down the finger groove to about half height and used a soldering iron to give some stippling to the thumb rest areas on each side of the frame. Looking to give it a full stipple job soon, i figure it was ugly to begin with, can't really make it any worse right?

THANKS. I'm planning on doing a stipple using the lines/treebark design and not the dot pattern that is pretty prevalent on stipple jobs. Need to invest in a woodburning tool with a flathead attachment. The soldering iron was nice because I had it lying around but it doesn't keep a steady temperature so its hard to keep the melting at an even pace.

Well, I finally got the balls to tackle the full on stipple job. I started out by masking off the grip area to be worked on by using the 3M Painters tape. First thing I attacked was the existing grip textures, namely the backstrap and finger grooves.

Melted them relatively flat as seen here:

        Then I went for it:

            I like it.

Bringing the iron to your gun takes some stones.

Looks interesting. How does it handle and feel now? Better grip?

Have you considered shaving the dust cover 1/3 of a centimeter? I've been considering that on my 23 but i've been putting it off.

Is that an Operation Desert Storm knife?

The knife is a CRKT m16, dual flppers in the desert camo color scheme.

The gun has some serious grip to it, hopefully I can get some range time in this week to see how she handles.

Looks good but maybe horizontal lines would have been better for recoil?
