    Freedom Arms

    Hi,
Pricey, but supposedly accurate. Well, I dunno, can you believe anything the gunwhores write. Anybody own one of these or know about them?
    Thanks,

a work of art. im not into cowboy guns but a damned fine piece. no cylinder play at all(so minute most people cant feel it) they shoot VERY well, just i didnt with the 454:P i shot a customers 45 acp model and fell in love.

the price is high but if you look at it from a metalworking standpoint and not a cowboy gun the price is fair.

handle one and youll see what i mean.

I have handled and dry-fired, but not shot, one (a "field grade" model).

      Fit & finish is beautiful.

The grip style is intermediate btwn a Ruger Blackhawk style and the Ruger Bisley; it is "tall" enough to use up your hand like a Bisley, and appears to be comfortable with use of heavy loads...

A buddy of mine has one in 454 i have shot it a few times very nice high quality pistol,i guess you cant shoot 45 lc in it you have to send it back for another cylinder because of tight tolerances, the grip was hard for me to get a hold of i dont shoot single action syle pistols that often

That is true. To shoot .45 LC you need the specific cylinder. The tolerances are very tight. With Freedom Arms, you get what you pay for. A high quality, great shooting hand cannon. I've had my eyes on this baby for a long time, but the + $2k price is a little deterrent (along w/ the fluted cylinders):

what you have pictured is almost exactly what i want, but i want the actagonal barrel too.

i just love the FA guns, i can really admire a fine bit of tooling no matter what it is... the FA gun to me is a piece of art.

I've decided that a Freedom Arms will be my next Sixgun. It's gonna take a while to get there but it should be well worth it.

A significant advantage for the aficionados of the pinnacle of cartridge development in handguns, the .41 Magnum, is the rifling twist, which allows accurate deployment of heavier bullets.

Never heard a complaint about Freedom Arms

It is the finest revolver going, bar none. Period. Anybody who builds up a ruger into a powerhouse for .475 or .500 Linebaugh will pay more and not get as good a gun as the Freedom Arms.
John Taffin has a scoped, .41 mag that he claims to regularly get a full cylinder into an inch at 100 yards.
I guess a case could be made for them being quite a bargain in regards to what you get.

Not to nitpick, but I'd say they are hunting handguns first, cowboy guns second. Heck, they didn't even make fixed-sighted guns until pretty recently.

And now you can get 'em with nifty groovy interchangeable front sights!

I've been dreaming about getting a FA gun for years. If I had bothered saving up during that time, I could have had one by now!

I have the Model 83 in .357 ( Model 353), and I can say without a doubt it is the finest revolver I have ever seen. The test target that came with it was one oblong hole. The finish is so nice that I hate to take it out.

I Traded a el camino for some cash and guns and picked up a freedom arms in454. What a great gun no play in the cylinder at all and very accurate. I couldnt afford the ammo and needed the cash so i sold it. I regret it very much.
