Beretta 92FS Mags ID Help?

I got these mags from a seller who said that the aftermarket mags were Mec-gars, but I couldn't find any markings that confirms it.

There are no markings on them except for warning about modifying the ten round mag to hold more rounds. Anyone have an idea of what they are?

I can tell you they aren't factory Beretta mags. Most Mec Gars I've seen unless they were the factory issue mags with said pistol like my Walther P-99 have the company markings on the side.

I'm going to guess maybe Pro-Mag but never seen one with markings like that and most are a glossy finish not a flat gritty one like the factory.

All in all they look really cheap and I wouldn't use them except for range mags only.

A test you should try is push down on the follower with your thumb if it's super easy compared to a factory mag toss it, will be the same as a Pro-Mag.

Was given one and it was garbage.

I was thinking the same thing. Especially since it isn't a violation of federal law to increase the size of that magazine, it's a state law.

Then I started thinking, maybe they were produced under the Federal AWB, and it was illegal to increase the mag's size.

My MecGars for the 92 are shiny black on the top 2/3rds and plastic on the bottom 1/3rd. I guarantee they are not MecGars that you can get today.

I only use MDS(which IS Beretta stock),Beretta, and MecGars. Most of the guys I know only support these 3 brands.

MDS,Beretta look the same, almost identical markings ( unlike yours ), and the MecGars are obviously different looking.

Life is too short for cheap magazines. BerettaUSA has stock 92 mags for $19.95 - some dealers are selling MecGars for that price also.

I wouldn't use them or buy them.

You guys are right, it is a cheaply made magazine. The top area doesn't hold the ammo at all which the spring tends to just pop the ammo out.

I think they only thing that is worth anything are the magazine bases. Everything else could be discarded.

But here's hoping someone knows what company who made this very bad magazines.

They are plastic floor plates, but no markings on them whatsoever. Only thing that says anything is the 10rd warning.

I'm going to post up some pictures of the follower, to show more of the mags.

This has become quite the mystery.
