I've looked around the web and there is a paucity of data on the the .357 SIG versus the .40 S&W. From what I gather, the .357 SIG was Sig-Sauer's (along with Federal) attempt to create an auto pistol cartridge in .40 S&W caliber that came as close as possible to the characteristics of a 125 grain bullet in the .357 Magnum caliber. It is carried by Air Marshalls and the Secret Service as well as state and municipal public safety organizations such as Texas Public Safety and the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
I have a Sig pistol and it's just a barrel change for me in my P229. And I am going to try it. But I am curious as to how many others have, what their results were, and what they think about it. Short of 10mm, it sounds as if is damn close to a .357 Magnum and that out performs .40 and .45. But looks can be deceiving and , as I know from my namesake, the devil is in the details as always.
