    Approved XD40's

I found an XD40 in 4" for sale on gunbroker, but the merchant doesn't know if it's CA legal or not. I checked the roster and I found the XD9102 on the list, but the gun is listed as an XD9102HC, which I don't see. Does the addendum to the product number make it a different gun?

yes, the HC means high cap magazine.
now if you have a clever ffl
he can take it in and remove the mags
and sell it to you as the same gun without the HC
    good luck,

Actually mostly I want a source I can refer the seller to, so they can see for themselves what is legal.

I have the XD9102, bought it w/ two 10rd mags, same setup I see on gunbroker for the XD9102HC, picked it up in Vallejo for 499, so after fees right around the same price you're looking at, if you don't mind driving to Vallejo twice might be worth it to call Triple A on Georgia st, to see if they have any left.

There's one around here for 499.99 too, but tax+Dros is higher than the transfer+dros through a friend that I have.

ahhh fair enough, just thought might be easier to get locally. What shop up in Sac has decent prices? My sister lives in North Highlands, I wouldn't be opposed to buying a gun up there.

Best prices in town bounce between River City Gun Exchange(XD's for $519 right now) and Cordova Shooting Range. $499 there for one right now.

Ok here's another one I came across. XD9402HCSP06. The bold is what I'm confused on here. Gotta love the handgun roster

Edit: nevermind, found it on Springfield's website. That one is CA legal, without the HC.

There are usually a lot of XDs for sale either here or xdtalk.com through PPT face to face. I got mine from a guy, only had 200 rounds through it for $450 +$35 DROS fee. I always like to visually inspect the gun before a buy. Buying sight unseen is a bit risky.

Well I did manage to get it and it's legal as long as the mags are taken apart. I paid 460, including shipping and dros for a BNIB gun.
