Ignore everything other than the front sight. And from a valuable source of knowledge, "Be the ball...."

-real firm grip, not like a crazy death grip, but firm,
-slow steady pull for the trigger, it helps to say it in your head while you're shooting, so you dont jerk the trigger,
-if shooting for the first time, hold your gun and get your grip and stance ready, point down range and close your eyes and slowly pull your trigger and just let the gun go off. this way it gives you a real good feel of the way the gun feels. just make sure you're pointing down range lol.
-sights, line the front sight so it's level with the rear sight with equal amount of light coming from both sides. and focus on the front sight.
other than that, use decent ammo and dont point your gun at anything you dont want to kill and have a blast the range.
The stuff that goes boom.

Good thread:
Stance and grip: I shoot modern Isosceles stance, high thumb grip with a slightly bent elbows. For reloading, I bring the gun in towards the body high retention, reach for magazine with weak hand index finger along side of the magazine and bring it up aligned to the magwell. The mag release is hit when my hand touches the magazine. Insert magwell and "push" gun back out, eyesight slightly under my target to acquire front sight before coming back on target.
Trigger: Prep the trigger, break the shot, reset. Concentrate on the front sight for the shot, move sight picture from front sight to next A-zone target to acquire the next shot while prepping the trigger.
Chambering: Overhand grip on rear of slide, press-check under the slide with thumb on one side, index and middle on the otherComment

Do you not shoot vertical angels? When you clean them do you hold them by the wings?Frank

Grip - two hands, push forward and pull back with firm but gentle pressure
Trigger finger - trigger centered on forefinger pad
Trigger - steady constant pressure
Sights - look at the front sight only and cover your target with it
Stance - feet shoulder width apart at 10 and 4 o'clock (decreases your cross section to any target) isosceles is fine for target shootingLast edited by kap; 03-25-2007, 1:53 PM.Comment
