    P226 + conversion cost...

Which is cheaper? Purchasing a Sig P226 in 9mm and buying a .22lr conversion or buying a P226 in .22lr and buying a 9mm conversion. I ask because I was watching Guns and Ammo TV and they had a P226 in .22lr and talked about a 9mm conversion kit or other calibers.

I think the 22lr 226 isn't on the list So you have to buy the centerfire 226, then buy a conversion.

Unless you have a roster exemption, you need to buy in centerfire, then convert to .22lr.

If you can get the .22lr then the 9mm conversion, that would be the cheaper route because you're getting the 9mm upper assembly with night sights. if you were to get a 9mm with night sights and then the conversion, you're paying a few hundred dollars more. But that only matters if you can get a p226 .22lr.

if you can get the P226 in .22lr...unless something changed...the discount coupon toward the purchase of the CF upper made the .22lr conversion unit almost free
