Ok so I got the gun shot it and all was good. Not anywhere near great. But she went bang every time and was pretty darn accurate. So CZ pistols are known for their gnarly toolmarks and mine was REALLY loose in the front end and somewhat loose in the rear end. And the trigger was , well a CZ trigger.
SO off to work I go. First I did a trigger job only on the SA at the time, shorten the hammer hooks, square the hooks recut the sear primary and cut a release angle put her back together and tons better, she is at a super crisp, clean 3lbs right now. Same as my 9mm 1911 idpa esp gun. Then I get a look at the tool marks(UGLY) inside the rails. So off to work I go filing the rails on ALL connecting portions in, out, top, bottom, and sides(it was alot of work) filed till the tool marks were gone and stoned the rails and worked the insides with a sand paper wrapped file to 1000grit, stone again to mirror finish. Like I said it took a long time.
once the rails were shiny polished and trigger was clean and crisp I decided I would tighten the slide to frame fit so I did that I actually had to tighten 200ths of an inch to get ti where I wanted it at. Now what I am left with is a gun at lockup is as tight as any match 1911 you will ever find a consistant lockup, a gun with a great trigger, and the slide and frame feel as if they are on ball bearings (just like my custom made caspian 1911) AND I was ready to beat up the finish on the gun in the process of tightening the slide to frame fit but managed to not end up with one mark, ding, or mar, no popping or buckling at all on the finish. I will post a range report and pics on monday. It really feels like a different animal all together.
I finished all the work on the CZ, I gutted her and really smoothed out the DA trigger pull clipped some coils and fine tuned the SA pull. Clean and crisp 3# SA and a buttery smooth light DA pull, I will measure the DA pull later. I have an adjustable Millet rear sight for the pre B on its way and when it gets here she will get a new rear sight and zeroed to her favorite load. Montana gold over 4.1gr titgroup.
