    SA milspec 1911

Is $790 a good price for SA milspec 1911 45 acp? That price includes DROS and taxes.
edit: it is in stainless steel and new-in-box

Online they go for around $650. Factor in $30 for shipping + $30 for transfer + $25 for DROS and it comes out to $735. Personally I would pony up the difference just so I could inspect the gun in person and make sure it has no defects.

Be patient, with that price you may get a Loaded version, keep looking.

What he said. Of course you can never go wrong buying a new Springfield. With the Springfield warranty, if there's anything at all wrong with the gun they will fix it, free of charge. They will also pay shipping both ways.

As far as buying a gun on-line. There's always the possibility for complications. I've read several members stories on just this forum of transfers, and dealings with FFLs that resulted in headaches. I always prefer a hands-on purchase whenever possible.

Maybe he specifically wants a Mil-spec. I know I did. Now I have both a Mil-spec and a Loaded. I actually like the Mil-spec more. There both great guns though.

And I think that is probably about what I paid for mine a few months ago. I THINK. But...agian, I think stainless is more $$$...so I prolly got jacked. However, I was tired of looking for a Mil-Spec so I didnt care, plus I was supporting local business

Its $640 at Buds which includes shipping, but I think they add $5 for insurance plus whatever your FFL charges you. Only problem is its not in stock and hasn't been for a long time. The do frequently stock the Parkerized Milspec for $575 and I get an urge to buy one every time they get it in stock.

That's a little steep for that price but there are other deals if you want to spend that much.

Better hurry, they sell out fast:

That's a fair price from what I've seen around here. I paid $750 plus dros & tax a couple months ago. I seen them since for $760-$790. I've not seen a parkerized but they should less.

GI's seem to go for $550-$600 for parkerized. I've not seen a stainless GI around here.

If ordering from bud's or any other online or out of state dealer you have consider what the FFL is going to charge you. Also, Sometimes the charge tax and sometimes they don't and every FFL I delt with seem to have their own rules so ask before you order.

I got mine from Buds, less than 700 after shipping, insurance, transfer and DROS fees. Check online and you'll find a better deal.

I tried exactly that model at LA Gun Club. It's a joy to shoot and fits my hand perfectly well.

I asked a local dealer to order me a parkerized milspec. I'll know in two days. Let's see.
