Finally!!

Okay... Here it is. After many years, (and I do mean many) of dodging the purchase of a Glock in favor of something else, mainly because I did not like the way they looked. I have finally added a Glock to my safe. Glock of choice... the G19 9mm. I did not go with the full size frankly because this one looked better. Was close to getting a two toned but I had feelings of future regret. I do wish I could do something about those finger grooves though. My fingers don't seem to match up with them. Like I said, If I found one at a good discounted rate, I would purchase. Thanks to the fellow Calgunner who informed me about the Law/Fire/EMS discount... I do wish I could do something about those finger grooves though. My fingers don't seem to match up with them.

You're about the third person I've heard complain about the finger grooves. Do you have unusually large or small hands? This is a serious question, because every finger-grooved glock I've handled fit my hand like a glove. The finger grooves always line up just right for me. My dad was one of the people that told me they didn't like the way the finger grooves fit, but he has much larger hands than I do...

Congrats. A G17 was the first pistol I bought and it will be that last pistol I own when I leave this earth. I love it and will never give it up. It has shot somewhere around 20K-30K rounds and never had a jam and its still running on all original parts. It also still looks NIB.

Having a bunch of 17rd mags and a few 33rd mags helps with the love

9mm Glocks are well-engineered firearms no doubt. The 9mm cartridge is now used by the U.S. Navy Seals so you know it's good--they wouldn't jeopardize their mission over round size measuring you can be sure. I prefer .357 SIG myself--higher velocity than .40 S&W with the same case size but a 9mm projectile that penetrates better than 9mm and explodes on impact nearly as well as .357 Magnum projectiles (I said "nearly"--;-)) in the equivalent projectile weight. Air marshalls use it for a reason--contained stopping power--and one you should consider for home defense applications as well for the same containment reasons.

I've seen a thousand threads turn to crap when round debates come up. Lets stay on topic. Not saying you did anything wrong advocatusdiaboli but I know your words will spark a fire under someones butt.

I think the G19 is one of the better pistols out there. I like the look and function. I also do not like the finger grooves and they can be professionally removed as well. I still might have mine removed.

I put off buying a glock because I was all into Sigs and HKs. Now Sigs have plastic rods bad finishes and I think I bought HKs because I really just wanted a real MP5.

I find the G17 to fit my large hands perfectly and the grooves line up well. My G17 has been even more reliable than my Sigs and HKs.
