    Trade or not?

    Hi Calguners,
I'd would like some advices if someone is willing to share. I'd bought a Goldcup SS polished 38Super in 1990 and rounds count is very low, condition is excellent and would like to trade with a DW Commander B-Tail Classic. Should I do it or not since I have not been using this GC at all in the last 10 years or so, just sitting in the back of the safe all these times. Thank you all.

I would say yes.... if you aren't shooting it, and have a need or want for the DW go for it

Do you compete or is this for defense? 38super is a dinky round compared to the mighty 45acp. I've never like the 38super.

You should check the ballistics on that...

The .38 Super offers higher bullet velocities than the 9x19mm Parabellum including +P and +P+ in factory cartridges. The greater case capacity allows for more powder and results in higher muzzle velocities at approximately similar pressure levels. The .38 Super is generally regarded as a well-balanced cartridge with a flat trajectory, good accuracy and capable of delivering plenty of energy. In fact most loadings will deliver more kinetic energy than most factory-loaded .45 ACP rounds

I'd go for the DW. They are nice. I saw them at the Stockade recently for around 1400 I think? Or whas it 1600? Not too bad considering their reputation for being a rip-off. And besides that, my understanding is that the Commander Classic has been discontinued (That's what it says on their site) so once they're gone they're gone. The only other gun they have that's similar is the V-Bob and with our luck, that one won't become available here in CA.

I think the Commander is still being made only for CA. Other states are getting a new model.

PM-7's and Cbobs are still being produced in limited numbers for distribution to California dealers only. They will produce 200 of each. All new variations of the Valor are available to the rest of the free states. That includes the black Vbob and stainless Vbob. They will not drop from the Ca. roster and will continue to be produced. They will not go away, so says Keith.

If you're looking for a shooter to replace a safe queen. Get the Cbob. It's a d@mn fine and accurate gun. I know, I have one.

I've shot 38super in competition at plates and pins and I still think its a dinky round. I'm sure the numbers can look good but personally I did not like the round. Maybe I just love the 45 round so much that everything else seems inferior
