    So the way I am understanding the laws: a guy can't buy an old P89 from out of state, even though they were legal to own and sold way back!?

      Not true, I just bought one on gun brokers NIB old stock about 6 mo. ago and love it!

              You are right! Thanks AND WHY do many out of state sellers not want to sell something like a older P-89 to California purchasers?
