    Whenever a gun KBs people jump all over the gun and not the user. If I stopped using guns that KB'd I'd have never owned AKs, ARs, Glocks, or Garands. How about reading the manual? Don't use lead bullets, don't use someone else's reloads. Don't like barrels with poly rifling or unsupported chambers? Then buy a barrel that has different rifling or a more supported chamber. Glocks are in service in over 30 countries. For every Glock KB you'll find 1,000 people who love their Glocks.

      25 ford explorers rolled over out of the 1 million on the road. I still own an explorer. There has to be millions of Glocks in use and a very small percentage (.001) has kb'ed. I still own a Glock.

            I worked as a rangemaster/armorer for a law enforcement agency that issued the Glock 22. We had about 130 of them in issue for approximately 10 years prior to my retirement in 2007.

            We had one, count 'em, one failure that we could classify as a "kaboom". That one involved a deputy who mistakenly loaded some 9MM rounds in his magazine, sending a loaded round partway down the barrel, then following it with a loaded .40 S&W round.

            I pressed the slide past the bulged barrel, removed it, examined the slide for cracks, installed a replacement barrel, and placed the weapon back into service. We did have another 22 that required a rebuild, turned out the deputy was using it in IDPA competetion as well as on and off duty carry. I don't know how many rounds he'd sent down it, but the number was substantial - far more then most of us will ever fire. That Glock required a new striker, striker spring, and spring cups.

            To contrast, we had only a handful of deputies carrying Sigs, H&Ks and Berettas. The Berettas suffered numerous problems, the Sigs much less (mostly trigger springs), and I never heard about or was called upon to repair any of the H&Ks.

            Numbers don't lie.
            I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

              I have 50K + through my G17, no problems yet. I've only heard of 21's blowing up. I wasn't there but it did happen at Metcalf and it was do to double charged reloads.
              I shot IDPA with guys who shot cast bullets, if you give the bore a once over every few mags you'll be fine. Glocks are reliable and maybe the simplest autos to work on.

                      WOW, so at an average of $10 a box of 50 9mm, you would have ran $10,000 worth of ammo through your gun!

                        Don't forget reloading. When I was shooting 3 matches a month, and add in practices, I was burning a little over 1000 rds a month. If I didn't reload, I would only have one kidney to pay for it all. My Glock 35, with Jarvis bbl has about 20k rounds through it, and it looks pretty good still. It is time to replace the recoil spring though.... I have to shoot a GSSF to have the Glock armorers go over it again...

                            yeah i have been wannting to get into loading myself. I also had a question, can a g26 handle some hot loads? +p or +P+? or what kind of ammo should I stay away from to prevent damages to the G26?

                                Yes a g26 can handle a +p+ ammo. It will handle any Corbon or Double Tap ammo.
                                Been shooting IPSC with a Glock since 1993 and have used molly quoted bullets and do my own reloading and never had any problems and have placed more than 60,000 rounds on my G24.
