Hunt for next pistol is over

So my dad just brought home a SA 1911 Mil-spec, decided to go with a "man's gun" instead of another 9mm . Just like to say that this would be the second pistol we're on after a Beretta M9. Would like to post pics now but we're frantically trying to hide it from the matriarch of the house who just came home. She'll see her first action at the Chabot Shoot-n-Que.

Some things that really strike me about this gun: The grips, although I had no problem with the checkered Beretta grips, being the true pistol novice I am, I love the feel of the wooden ones that come with the Springfield.

I've also fallen in love with the parkerizing on this thing, to me, its a lot more sexy than blueing. This is our first .45, so of course the size of the muzzle just further demonstrates that this gun spells bad days for those who'd stand in the face of one.

Ergonomically, I just love gripping it a lot better than the Beretta, it accomodates a higher grip and my smaller hads very well. Sights are the right size as well compared to the GI spec. When I get out of the house a 1911 will be the first pistol that I get.

            Can't beat a legend!

I can sympathize with the small hands issue. A single stack is far easier to grasp.

You've done an excellent job of manipulating your father's involvement in your firearms addiction! lol

And I remember when you first came in with Mom & Pop.

It's semi-curable...but very expensive to properly treat.

OK, I just want to add that the hunt for the next gun is never over. What you mean is the hunt for the *last* gun is over.

Now, to think about the next gun...

I have a plan to sell a commander I don't shoot so well, but only to fund a customization from a big name smith on my 'extra' colt.

WRONG!!!!! It's not curable only treatable with a steady dose of gun additions to the safe
