.380 bersa ?????

A friend of mine bought a bursa thunder .380 today.Not sure why but i hope he is happy in the long run.....
Anyways,i cant seem to find any info pertaining to reliability that's not bias in nature.If some one can,please tell me about this little noise maker.

It is extremely reliable. Bersa 380's are great guns and even better guns for the money. They have a great reputation and are loved by their owners.

I have owned one for a couple of years. Before I read anything on them, I thought they were about as good as Davis, Jennings, Raven, etc. Basically, I considered it a 'Junk Gun'.
I started reading reviews. They were all great. Basically, it is a clone of a Walther PPK/s for half the price and twice the quality. Every review I read claims the Bersa has a much better trigger than the Walther and feeds more reliably.
The .380 can be effective with the right ammo. I choose Cor-Bon DPX. You can check the ballistics for yourself, I do not remember the numbers.
I finally went to Turners when they were on sale for $270. I absolutely loved the trigger when I first dry fired it. 3 dot sights and it fits my hand perfect. It takes down and re-assembles in seconds. I have not had a single FTE or FTL.
I take it to an indoor range and practice at 25'. This is 15' further than a 'pocket gun' needs to be effective. My groups average 3" to 4" with one hand or 2. Keep in mind this is a small gun with a short barrel.
I have been hard pressed to find anyone with a complaint on this gun.
Oh yeah, I think it is like shooting a .22. Mild recoil and just fun.
I wish .380 ammo were as cheap as .22...
Now go buy your friend a six pack and tell him you want to join him on his first range trip. Make sure you have $300 in your wallet to buy your own. Otherwise, you may be unhappy at the end of the trip ;-).

when i read opinions and reviews on the little bersa, it is usually compared to the sig P230/P232. the comparison is made because of the bersa's reliability and good quality for it's cost. the sig wins out, except for the cost factor. it says much for the bersa to be compared to the P230/P232 in the first place. the bersa is considered to be a "best buy" gun. i own a w german sig P230 but their are bersa owners that prefer it over the sig....

i usually pick up a box or two of .380 at one of the gun shows; the .380 ammo is seemingly becoming collectible....

Love the gun, but I'd get the 9mm just for the sake of ammo alone. Good luck trying to find .380 right now.

When I was younger, and had little patience on saving up $funds for a pistol or any type of firearm I was really serious on buying this little bersa 380, but in the long run I'm glad I didn't purchase it! I'm not bias or anything of that sort but something that I may depend on to preserve my life depending on a clone firearm, glad I went with Glock.

Glock was indeed the better first buy but that "clone" is far better then the original. I own both a Bersa and a Walther. The Bersa 380 is the best PP style pistol made right now.
