    Derringer?

Well, by this question you can tell I am new to this but: Can a derringer legally be purchased in California?
    Thanks

Yes, legal, but I don't think there are any on the "Safe Handgun Roster" approved for sale as new guns.
Buying a used one via a PPT at a dealer is legal, though.

      The short answer is yes.

I believe the only one's that are on the approved list are made by Cobra Enterprises. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe they are made using the old Davis tooling. I had a Davis .22 back in the day. Nice little pistol. Definitely a "belly gun" though. Couldn't hit a thing outside of 7 feet.

I think there are some kits that allow you to finish making a derringer. They appear to be legal for purchase since you're not buying a firearm. There is some work involved in finishing one off to get it to work, though, if I recall.

There are a handful of new Derringer's that were recently added to the roster:

Hahaha...these are the guns the "Safe Handgun Roster" was supposed to ban as unsafe.
Good to see these are available again.

I had a davis 38. It went bang every time. It was hard to shoot accurately and the trigger pull was probably was 15 to 20lbs. Mark

I don't know why the Bond Derringer isn't CA OK. It's about the surdiest thing out there and has a cross bolt type safety on it. Barrels are interchangeable so if one configuration gets in all you have to do is remove one barrel set & replace with the 2nd. I have 45 ACP, 45 Colt and 9mm.

I believe you'd only be able to buy one using a PTP transfer. In other words, it must already be owned in this state.
