Unless your name is Kimber looks like you mind is made up!

Are their specific models or price ranges you are considering?

I would take a Kimber Custom II over a SA Mil Spec based on the Kimber being made in America and the SA frame comes from Imbel in Brazil, which doesn't mean its poor quality, just my preference. Getting into the higher prices. I would go with a SA TRP or such over any Kimber. Plus the SA doesnt have a Schwartz safety. Some dont mind it, some hate it and it can be eliminated. In my opinion I would buy SA and Kimber over Para. Also some people have complained that Kimber is using too many parts made with metal injection molding (MIM). Again its a preference, since some people have found MIM to fail more often. I cant recall if SA is using MIM in their models.

Go with SA. I have one and it is a solid gun. I don't hear good things about Kimber.

^^ kimber custom ii is one step higher than SA mil spec. its comparable to the loaded SA

When choosing my first .45 I went with an option not on your list and am very happy with it. However, in keeping with your question and terms I'd go with the Springfield.

SP Loaded. More bang for you buck and its a solid pistol to boot.

I have two Kimbers (TLE/RL and Warrior II) and two Springfields (MC Operator and TRP) and I love 'em all. To be honest I can't say which 1911 (or brand) I prefer.

I would check out the Springfield Loaded, it's a great gun for the money. Also check out the Dan Wesson PM7.

Your title should have been "1911", lots of guns use .45ACP.
