I was wondering if anyone had a easy and successful internet transfer done at any bay area dealers (east bay preferred)? As well as what website did u buy it from and what typical fees do the local dealers charge?

Internet Buy and Transfer Experience?

UG Imports in Fremont (www.ugimports.com) has made it easy for me every time I needed to do a transfer. I've transferred through them twice, once for two stripped lowers I got from Riflegear, and once just in the past few weeks for a 1911 I bought from Bud's Gun Shop. I've also purchased a handgun directly from them (they're an order-on-demand FFL, so buying from them is essentially identical to buying on the internet and transferring, but without the transfer fees) and that was equally painless -- whatever you're thinking of buying, if you're going to transfer through UGI I'd recommend asking if they can get one from their distributors for you at a comparable price.
UGI's transfer fee for the first gun is $50. They will, however, collect the use tax upfront from you -- which is not a problem in my book, I only mentioned it because bandook asked.
Statements I make on this forum should not be construed as giving legal advice or forming an attorney-client relationship.Comment

Roger's Relics is $65 for long guns, $75 for handguns. I've transferred lowers through them twice, Roger and Lisa are the best. Recently did a PPT at UG Imports, and Anthony was awesome as well. I recommend both of them without hesitation.Comment

Rob Blank in Milpitas is $65 for handguns. Haven't had him collect use tax before; just make sure to declare it on your annual taxes along with all the other internet purchases
Kind of ironic that when we buy guns, some of that money ends up lining the pockets of politicians who are trying to get guns banned and/or make them prohibitively expensive for Californians to purchase.Originally posted by luchador768We also had a lot of wannabe gangsters putting the display pistols down thier pants to "try them on.". If you bought a display handgun from the Riverside Turners in the 1990's there's a greater than average chance that there is cholo crotch on it.Comment

I've done business with Robert Verkus out in Sac. He's always been cool in transfering pretty much anythign legal for $60. While that's a bite out there from East Bay, it's an option.
As for online seller... I've gone with Summitgunbroker and Bud's, several transactions per dealer, either had issues.

What's the 'use' tax? On average ($60-$75) for the FFL transfer, and other fees/tax, what's the out the door formula for a internet purchased firearm?
online gun price+FFL transfer fee+tax?+???=Out the doorComment

Don't forget the DROS fee.
If you check out gallery of guns, you can have a better picture of your out the door price with CA retailers then compared to your summation above to see which makes sense.
Good luckComment

If you ever wander at my side of the bay.. North Bay (Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park, Petaluma,or Windsor)... A great guy to deal with is VINNIE of VINNIE'S GUNS in Rohnert Park. I am on my 2nd day of the 10 day handgun jail time. Straightforward and cool guy to talk to and even got a free Vinnie's Guns shirt. I paid a total of 90.00. I believe it's 25.00 for the DROS and the rest I guess is the transfer fee. Didn't really have time to ask a lot of questions because I was on my way to work but I did get a look at some of his nice AR's.
I bought the gun Sig P226 Stainless from Yzernie here on Calguns. My first online purchase and am happy to say that the deal was flawless and so much easier than I thought.Comment
