Best .22 Pistol?

Ruger Mark II (no stupid LCI or mag disconnect) or Browning Buckmark.
They both have set the bar for .22 pistols.
Personally, I own the Mark II, but you won't go wrong with either. Please read the Calguns Wiki
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.

anything mentioned above.....under $400 will get you just about anything in .22lr!sigpic
Most civilization is based on cowardice. It's so easy to civilize by teaching cowardice. You water down the standards which would lead to bravery. You restrain the will. You regulate the appetites. You fence in the horizons. You make a law for every movement. You deny the existence of chaos. You teach even the children to breathe slowly. You tame.

Browning Buckmark is the most reliable I've shot. Similar grip angle as 1911. Screw attached barrel allows barrel changing or cleaning with minimal tool.
S&W 22A or 22S are also good. Mine shoots less than 1.5" 10-shot groups at 25 yards Winchester X22LR easily. Press a button and the barrel comes off for cleaning. It's not as refined as the Browning and Ruger Mark but it's cheap and good where you need it.
I don't like Ruger Mark due to it's single opening ejection port, difficult to strip, changing barrel and grip angle. It does shoot great and very reliable.
Personally I like SW M41 best. Dead accurate, never jams or mis-fires, best trigger and changing barrel is a breeze. Too bad they are expensive.GCC

I would get a Buckmark or a Ruger if you want a Semi. You can always get a cheap buckmark and get a tact sol barrel with a little attachment welded on
There are .22 revolvers too.

That's why it came with extras
Out of all the guns mentioned in this thread so far, the P22 is just the funnest and coolest
looking. I know I'm going to be the only one arguing for it, so I feel like I have to talk extra loud.
Get the P22!Chris
