i rented a Para P14 (i think) at On Target (OC) on saturday. It's basically a 1911 with a double stack magazine.
I get the .45's loaded into the magazine and pop it into the pistol as usual. The second I pulled my hand away and started to raise the pistol to aim, THE BOTTOM OF MAGAZINE FLEW OUT! and i mean FLEW, with all the force of the loaded up spring. my .45's were rolling all over the ground. the spring was over here, the bottom was over there and 45's were everwhere. grrrr... I guess its better than an epic fail involving it blowing up in my hands...
I guess its forgiveable considering hundreds of rounds are put through it every day, thousands a month, but still COME ON! i cant stop imagining actually NEEDING it in the middle of the night and all my .45's rolling around at my feet
maybe we can talk it out?? ha
Luckily a springfield mil-spec was back on the shelf when i brought back my basket of disassembled magaine parts... I like it better anyway
