Denatured alcohol. That stuff works great and leave nothing behind.

get your gun safe solvent that you use for cleaning, spray it on and let it think about itself for a while. rub off what you can, then do it again, until you are down to the stainless.

wd40 works well for removing adhisives. spray some on and rub with a rag.

"Goof-Off", or denatured alcohol will probably take that right off.

Goo Gone. You can find this everywhere (Lowe's, Walmart, etc) and use it for a lot of stuff.

Goof-Off is nasty stuff, I'd save that as a last resort. If you use it, any plastic part that might come into contact with it will be affected. In order I'd try the Denatured Alcohol, Acetone (your wife/girlfriend's nail polish remover) then the Goof Off. And a lot of ventilation if you use the Goof Off (Nitrile gloves, maybe vinyl, goof off will eat latex gloves real fast).

I've also used WD40 for removing adhesives. Pretty mild, too, especially compared to some of the other chemicals recommended.

Denatured Alcohol leaves zero residue. It evaporates completely and is the safest of anything recommended.

Goo Gone is much better than Goof Off and doesn't have the smell. WD-40 if you don't have Goo Gone.

                          Respectfully,

                          Kyle
