arrrgh! more problems with my 2011

So this is not the guns fault...but I am not sure what is broken...

    symptom:

magazine loaded, round in the camber and hammer cock back...fire the round, ejects the casing loads another round but doesn't recock the hammer...WTF?? I tore the gun down to find broken parts but there is nothing I can find. I fixed the disconnector problem previously discussed...

Just not sure what could be causing this?

    Thanks in advance

Could be a number of things like a botched trigger job or broken or weak sear spring. But the basic gist is that the sear is failing to hold the hammer as the slide moves forward.

yeah I did and it keeps doing the same thing...I ordered new hammer, sear, disconnector and trigger bow yesterday. I am hoping that maybe the sear is worn and thats whats going on?

Sounds like the hammer is following the slide; does the hammer drop to half cock?

When you posted the picture of the disconnector below the frame hole yesterday, did the hammer stay cocked back when the slide dropped?

Prior to removing the slide (when that pic was taken) it did....Maybe the forked spring (three pronged) got bent? that middle prong should be virtually straght right?

hammer is following the slide...It half cocks if I manually pull in back, but won't full cock

2011's are not the entirely the same.. Literally, in the last month or so, I've had 2 buddies who've had hammer follow which ended up in the guns occassionally going full-auto. One was immediately fixed with a new sear/disconnector kit.. The other had issues with the leaf spring and the plastic pistol housing.. Both guns were competition 2011's.

In your case, I'd be very careful about trying to fix this. Hammer follow is one of the more serious malfunctions you can experience. Unless you're familiar with the 2011 platform, I really suggest taking it to a competent smith. Make sure that they are very familiar with working on 2011's.

Happened to me, same exact problem, probably not as bad, but it was getting bad. Had it taken to (refered to) Jojo at JV Dynamics.... He does this stuff for a living (2011s)

but be warned, I went to fix that problem, and ended up spending another 175 worth of custom work.. In other words, don't look at his stuff! You'll end up drooling more and buying more!
