    High Cap mag question

So I'm moving to cali and I have one gun that has 15 round mags. I know i can disassemble the mags and bring them into cali as part and multiple people have recommended me to do so, but whats the point? If I correct I can't reassemble them or use them legally again right?

No, you cannot reassemble them. Better to have parts (should you go outside of california) than have to buy more magazines at a later date.

If you obtained them prior to 2000, while being in California, you can legally bring them back fully assembled.

Think ahead when you might move back to America, or travel outside Kalifornia back to America, you can bring them re-assemble and use as intended.

Do not bring them in unless disassembled -- do not reassemble in CA unless permanently blocking them, prior to assembly, to hold 10 rounds or less. Or sell the hi-caps in your current state and buy 10 round mags.

That was my plan until people told me to keep them. Maybe I'll just keep them dissablmed incase i travel outside Cali.

That will work. We have some good people on Calguns; and our number one priority is living within the laws. (We don't have to like it -- but we do it.)

But then, while traveling to CA a cop pulls you over and says what are you doing with those high cap magazine parts here in CA?

I would just keep them and get new 10-rounders unless there is a "less permanent" way of blocking off the mags to only hold 10. Depending on the gun, people on that gun's "go-to" forum sell 10-rounders for dirt cheap since nobody wants them except in ban states. Then when you go play out of state, put those bad boys back together.

keep them (disassembled) and pray the ban law falls.

But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself...A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague."......Cicero

Bring them and sell them as mag rebuilds for those that have pre-bans.

parts are parts. parts are legal.
