    Price check SIG P228

How much are SIG P228 going for these days? This has always been my favorite gun and I'm getting a pretty good tax return so I have a hole in my pocket.

They have used ones at So Cal Gun on Convoy in Kearny Mesa for $465. I just picked mine up yesterday. Completely stripped it down and cleaned it all out. It hardly looks used at all. They are made in Germany and were carried by Swiss Police. Brand new you're looking at 700--1000 bucks.
After a shooting spree, they always want to take the guns away from the people who didn't do it.

I just paid $550. for a nice barely used 228 with an exceptional trigger and action job done to it. A 1995 version. KF coded.

That price of $465.00 seems like a good deal... I payed $460.00 before tax-dros for may police trade in from Turners about 9 months ago. The one I picked up looks like it was never used or holstered much as it has no ware to the finish.. Even if they show ware on to the finish, if the internals are in nice shape these are, for that price a hell of a bargain. My 228 has become my favorite pistol in my arsenal.
Good luck on the 228 hunt!

CPOs tend to go from $550 and up, but there has been some surplus SIG 228s from Swiss recently, and they are a bit cheaper, while mechanically sound.

Can you tell by looking at the serial number what year it was made? If so that would be cool..if not I don't really care. I finally get to shoot it tomorrow (just picked up yesterday). I'm chompin at the bit. Price as $465 was before tax/dros

here's mine I got from them. one or two of them say $650 or something, but ask the guy if they are still on sale. The middle aged guy with kinda long hair helped me, I think he's the manager, but could be wrong. Good luck!

Shot mine at P2K for the first time today. At 15 yards, I managed a 1.5" 5 shot group. Not great, but not bad being that it was my first time shooting the gun. It was a dream to shoot. That SA trigger is definitely nice. I'm certainly in love right now, haha
