To the guy at Walmart ammo counter

    Seriously?

So Im going by walmart and get up to the ammo case and see 6 boxes of 100 round WWB. I think to myself sweet. I need two of those. Theres no rep there so I wait about 30 seconds.
Rep comes walking up and a customer walks up right behind him. Rep turns towards us and says "what can I get you boys?" The guy next to me without even waiting his turn says "9mm luger?" rep points to the WWB and he says "I'll take all of it"

I turn towards him and say "really? thats what I was waiting to buy."

He looks at me and says "oh man, i'm sorry."

Walmart clerk says "well you guys can split it?"

The dude sits there for about a minute, splits up the boxes and he's sitting there contemplating what to do. In the meantime trying to talk about how he never finds ammo and be all buddy buddy.

A minute goes by while he's just staring between me and the ammo and the Walmart clerk says "ok so what'll it be"

Dude looks at me, then the ammo then says "yeah I'll take all of it"

Then he says to me "oh man I feel so bad, it happens to me all the time" "im sorry"

After he pays he starts to make small talk and says "so whats the REAL story behind the shortage"

I look at him and say "ammo hoarders"

He says "I know right?" then sorta mills around looking at me trying to start up more small talk.. Then he repeats he's sorry a few more times and leaves.

    What a D bag.

I don't even care about the ammo. I am appaled by the lack of human decency. He cuts in front of me in line, buys as much as he can get, says he's sorry and feels really bad yet won't even offer to let me buy one measely box. You sir are a disgrace to the sport. It makes me sick that people are so selfish that they actually have to convince themselves that it's ok to be greedy and disrespectful to their fellow men.

Seriously wtf... If I was the sales clerk I would have given you first pick and then him or at least made him do 50/50. What a greedy little bastard. Albeit I always miss the guy who buys all the bricks of .22LR at Walmart by apparently 5 minutes and Im left with the $5 for 50 CCI stingers(great stuff but expensive for putting holes in paper).

That actually happened to me twice, it irritates me to be waiting there for help and some dbag swoops in and acts like he was there before me and buys them all. There is two problems, dbags and the long wait to get help at walmart. One time I had one employee help me and run off to get the keys, only to have the person (guy with the keys) that employee was looking for come back and two fine gentlemen that had just walked in buy the last 12 boxes. How did I know they had just walked in, "Hey sweet they have 9mm!" was the first thing they said when they walked up. The employee told me I was SOL. That is what has pushed me to reloading, that and being able to load 147 grain for competitions at a decent price. If you want to talk about hoarding brass, that's me, but I do ask the people near me if they want their brass first, and if not collect brass only at stations where the shooters have left already.

For .22lr ammo I just order them online and wait, or if I am going up to Tahoe just stop by Reno and pick up all the value packs I can afford for $17.99, last time I was up there Sportsmen's Warehouse was having a 10% off sale on ammo. For .22lr Reno was stocked to the brim. We should just start organizing reloading supplies, and ammo runs to Reno. Compensate the driver with a little money or food and we will still come out ahead if you calculate the cost of constantly going to Walmarts and the wait.

Walmart employees suck, he should have assisted you first and not both together. And the d-bag, wow, 600 rounds all to himself and you only wanted 200? What an ***

Thats pretty bad.... it would suck worse if you happened to be in a local FFL over the weekend and find the same dude parked behind the counter with the WWB tagged at 40 or 50 percent above the MallWart price.

            Just sayin.........

It's not hoarding if he's actually gonna use all that ammo. Just sayin'.

But you're right, he really should've let you have some of it just out of courtesy.

You should have cut him off mid-sentence and told the clerk you were first.

                Then take "all of it."

Since he and the clerk walked up together, maybe the other guy was actually there first and went to find the clerk.

It makes me sick that people are so selfish that they actually have to convince themselves that it's ok to be greedy and disrespectful to their fellow men.

I'm never going to walmart ammo sales again. The hoarders have ruined this sport for me (and many others).
in a way.. -1 to both of you..

                      a big -1 for him being a d-bag..
a small -.5 for you not standing up for yourself..

The world is full of a-holes.It's lame that he tried to apologize for being a jack @ss..but at the same time, have the balls to speak up for yourself... Tell the clerk, "I was here first. I want the ammo." I would've done it without flinching.. You wouldve been well within your moral compass to have done that.. It's sorta hard to sympathize when you pretty much let him get away with it...

As for ruining the sport? That's probably one of the worst reasons I've heard to stop shooting. I've heard, "no time, no money, it bores me, I found a new hobby"- but I've never heard anyone say, "its cause they keep buying all the ammo". Yes, it's hard to find ammo these days, but that doesnt change my interest nor should it change yours. I will always enjoy shooting, regardless of what the ignorant a-holes are doing at Walmart.

Don't be so easily jaded by the actions of this jerk.. Honestly, if you stop shooting, that's on you, not someone else. You seem like one of the good guys, don't quit because of some punk.

dude that was me. I said I was sorry, if I knew it was going to be that big of a deal to you I woulda let you get a couple. and I'm the reason the clerk came to the ammo center so I could get that, so techniqually you were after me.

haha I'm just kidding that wasn't me. That does blow, a split offer would have been the right thing to do on his part.

the walmart by my home will only let you buy two boxes at a time. so i guess they have had this sort of thing occur before. i dont bother with it as i reload now and dont mess with walmart ammo or attitudes anymore. i have had people at the range literally pick up my casings as i was firing them. i told him i reload andi wanted all of those back. he got butt hurt but hey that is my property. if i leave it you can have it but at least let me make that call
